This is the point when formal abstract expressionism became just abstract expressionism. I’m still hanging on to the basic structure at this point because I’m not sure how to handle that side of things but I’ve let go with the brush at least.

This is called Weird one because weirdly it has sat around for about a year with just a tiny amount of work needed to finish it. Unfortunately it was overrun by some new work and didn’t look like it was going to make it over the line, however, it is a significant painting because it shows a key transition in my work from formal abstract expressionism to just regular abstract expressionism without the formal element. Anyway, weirdly I decided to finish it and so here it is!
