The theory of the super flat

I’ve been taking a look at Takashi Murakami’s work. I like it in a kind of “yeh its modern Warhol” kind of way. Whats most interesting is the way he is blurring the lines between art, other creative disciplines and consumerism. Buy the toy, send the postcard and hang the wallpaper, its all art!

As for the super flat theory well I’ll leave it to him to explain.

By the way while we’re on the subject of Murakami’s I prefer Haruki Murakami. More depth less plastic.
