This is called Weird one because weirdly it has sat around for about a year with just a tiny amount of work needed to finish it. Unfortunately it was overrun by some new work and didn’t look like it was going to make it over the line, however, it is a significant painting because it shows a key transition in my work from formal abstract expressionism to just regular abstract expressionism without the formal element. Anyway, weirdly I decided to finish it and so here it is!

After sometime away this is what’s on the easel at the moment. This piece is not quite finished.
It is the first painting I’ve produced that tries to fuse formal abstract expressionism techniques with more traditional straight abstract expressionist methods. I’ve also introduced z ordering for all you programmers out there
This painting is going to fail but I have high hopes the methodology is sound and will usher in a new series of paintings.
